About the role
TNT Crane & Rigging, Inc. is seeking a full-time experienced Crane Technician to perform maintenance and repairs on cranes, trucks, forklifts, and other various equipment. The mechanic will follow all State and Federal laws while operating motor vehicles and adhere to all safety and environmental policies while performing job tasks.
Responsibilities
- Perform inspections, diagnosis, repair, and maintenance of various hydraulic mobile cranes including all terrain, rough terrain, boom trucks, etc.
- Supply your own tools with up-to-date tool inventory (specialty tools are available in the shop).
- Perform scheduled maintenance on trucks, cranes, forklifts, and other various equipment.
- Document all maintenance and repairs performed on the equipment and file records properly.
- Troubleshoot hydraulics, electronics, and mechanical crane systems.
- Test mechanical, electronic, electrical, and hydraulic products and equipment after repair or modifications to ensure proper operation and compliance with OEM specifications and DOT rules and regulations.
- Verbally communicate safety issues to customers and co-workers on location before and during job tasks.
- Report to Maintenance Manager on completion of assigned job tasks for next assignment.
- Work some evenings and weekends at the shop.
- Accomplish tasks independently without direct supervision.
- Maintain all equipment according to safety requirements.
- Properly maintain all reports (timesheets, work orders, expense reports, etc.).
- Other duties as assigned.
Requirements
- High School Diploma or GED.
- At least 3 years’ experience as a crane mechanic in an automotive, trucking, or heavy equipment environment, or equivalent combination of education and experience.
- Experience as a mechanic with electrical and hydraulics in modern crane technology.
- Working knowledge of CANBUS, PAT, ECOS, CCS, and LICCON systems.
- Ability to read and understand operating manuals, parts manuals, and technical drawings.
- Valid driver’s license, clean driving record, and ability to obtain a TWIC card.
- Ability to safely lift over 40 lbs.
- Ability to work overtime and weekends.
