Craftsperson - Facilities

Responsibilities

• Performs scheduled maintenance on facilities equipment and systems.
• Repairs the malfunction of machines, systems and auxiliary equipment.
• Routinely checks on machinery and systems for signs of fault in order to prevent or minimize downtime and interruptions.
• Initiates improvement on the functionality of facilities equipment and systems to increase its efficiency.
• Senior position might acts as a team leader to ensure that the work meets agreed targets by directly overseeing team members.
• Maintains strict adherence to safety regulations and company procedures.
• Documents activities accordingly.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma and two years related experience.
• Knowledge of basic carpentry including interior wall framing, hanging framing, and installing doors, Sheetrock installation and finishing techniques, Installation of suspended ceilings. Basic floor repairs for carpet and tile type flooring.
• Knowledge of basic plumbing repair for facility fixtures and drains.
• Ability to install conduit and pull content wire.
• Ability to measure and interpret line and phase voltages and currents.
• Ability to operate power snake and other drain cleaning devices.
• Understand basic mechanical blueprint reading principles.
• Understand motor controls, sensors and electrical control devices.
• Understand basic fluids principles and apply to equipment.
• Ability to read basic construction drawings.
• Participate in Department specific training.
• Understand refrigeration and air conditioning principles of operation.
• Knowledge of facility roof types and basic repair techniques.
• Knowledge of boiler operation and controls.
• Knowledge of boiler heat source.
• Knowledge of boiler supply systems.
• Understand and apply SDWT principles.
• Ability to maintain electric water heating systems.
• Understanding of humidification and dehumidification equipment.
• Knowledge of company change control process.
• Knowledge of positive pressure requirements in controlled environments.
• Knowledge of refrigerant types, condensers, pumps, evaporators, expansion devices, and safety control devices.
• Knowledge of Hazwoper, confined spaces, lockout / tagout and protective clothing requirements.
• Participate in Department specific training.
• Ability to recover and charge refrigeration systems.
• Ability to maintain facility lighting circuits, troubleshoot / replacing fixture, bulbs and ballast.
• Knowledge of facility power distribution system.
• Ability to install black iron pipe and fittings.
• Ability to install copper pipe, tubing and related fittings.
• Ability to solder and braze.
• Ability to identify gage types, cut, and bend sheet metals.
• Ability to operate air handling systems.
• Knowledge of operating principles of air handling systems.
• Ability to maintain chiller systems.
• Ability to maintain cooling tower systems.
• Ability to perform welding as trained.
• Knowledge of heat exchangers and their operations.
• Knowledge of U.V filtering systems.
• Knowledge of reverse osmosis process systems.
• Knowledge of backflow presenters.
• Ability to maintain steam system traps, regulators, and control valves.
• Ability to balance HVAC systems.
• Ability to read electrical schematics.
• Ability to troubleshoot PLC controlled equipment.
• Ability to maintain emergency backup power generators.
• Ability to trouble shoot transformers.

Pay

The targeted range for this role takes into account a range of factors that are considered when making compensation and hiring decisions; included but not limited to: skill sets; experience and training; licensure and certifications; and other business and organizational needs. The disclosed range estimate has not been adjusted for the applicable geographic differential associated with the location at which the position may be filled. Compensation decisions are dependent on the facts and circumstances of each case.
