CPEP Afternoon/Evening Psychiatrist
Stony Brook University is the premier academic medical center in Suffolk County, New York. The University Hospital offers state-of-the-art care, including for patients presenting with acute psychiatric problems. Services include the only Suffolk County Comprehensive Psychiatric Emergency Program (CPEP).
About the role
The Clinical Assistant Professor will be responsible for psychiatric evaluation and management of patients in the CPEP/ED of University Hospital, as well as teaching and supervision of medical students and residents.

Schedule
Afternoon/Evening shifts totaling 40 hours per week, consisting of (4) 10-hour shifts from 1pm–11pm, including one weekend shift each week. Weekends and holidays are required. Cross-coverage as necessary.
Requirements
- MD/DO (or foreign equivalent)
- New York State license, or eligibility
- Board Certification or Board Eligibility in Adult Psychiatry
Preferred Qualifications
- Clinical experience with psychiatric patients in a Comprehensive Psychiatric Emergency Program or other Psychiatric Emergency Setting
- Track record in teaching experience in Emergency psychiatry
- Training in Child Psychiatry
Pay
Salary starting at $336,000 per year, plus eligibility for moonlighting and the faculty practice after-hours program.
