CPA/ Accountant

Job details:

• We are searching for a highly motivated and experienced Certified Public Accountant (CPA) to join our dynamic team in the Mortgage industry.
• This is a permanent position where you will be responsible for managing and overseeing the daily operations of our accounting department.
• The ideal candidate will have extensive knowledge of all aspects of tax, accounting, and cleanup.

Responsibilities

• Prepare and review complex tax return and provide practical, proactive tax planning services.
• Conduct regular audits to ensure compliance with internal policies and federal regulations.
• Manage and oversee the daily operations of the accounting department including monthly financial reporting, general ledger, cost accounting, payroll, accounts payable, accounts receivable, budgeting, tax compliance, inventory accounting, revenue recognition.
• Cook up and complete annual audits and review.
• Develop and maintain financial accounting systems for cash management, accounts payable, accounts receivable, credit control, and petty cash.
• Reconcile bank statements and calculate tax payments and returns.
• Manage and track the performance of invested assets in alignment with the company’s policies and investment strategy.
• Implement and monitor internal controls to prevent inaccuracies in financial statements.
• Work on cleanup projects to ensure the company’s financials are accurate and up-to-date.
• Collaborate with external auditors and manage auditing projects.
• Provide strategic financial input and leadership on decision-making issues affecting the organization.

Qualifications

• Must be a Certified Public Accountant (CPA).
• Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field.
• Minimum of 5+ years of experience in accounting or a related field.
• Extensive knowledge of tax, accounting, and cleanup.
• Experience with computerized ledger systems.
• Advanced knowledge of bookkeeping and accounting best practices, laws, standards, and state/national regulations.
• Strong mathematical and analytical skills.
• Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written.
• Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
• Strong problem-solving skills and attention to detail.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite, particularly with Excel.
• Experience in the Mortgage industry will be an added advantage.
