Court Technology Specialist (Business Applications Analyst)
About the role
The salary for this position is: $6,569 - $8,738 monthly.
Responsibilities
- Responds to users' inquiries concerning systems operations;
- diseases and operator problems;
- seeks and implements solutions;
- orks with all levels of Court staff to solve simple, day-to-day IT-related issues;
- ilitates communication between IT staff and Superior Court staff for resolving hardware and software issues;
- ilitates onboarding and offboarding of Court staff with Thurston County IT systems and Administrative Office of the Courts (AOC) case management system;
- ets up client with system accounts and accesses in office/department specific system;
- verifies data access requests for approval;
- ures system is secure from unauthorized access;
- orks directly with court administrator, judges, court staff and information technology department to align short- and long-term business goals and Court-wide technology initiatives;
- ommends and introduces technological efficiencies to streamline Court processes;
- oordinates installation of hardware and software updates, changes, and enhancements;
- ets and implements newly purchased software;
- oordinates database and operating system upgrades;
- ests installed versions to ensure system is running properly;
- ets, monitors, and maintains audio-visual (AV) equipment;
- ures the effective operation of all audio-visual needs and end-user technologies for judges and court participants;
- evolves training procedures for staff and users related to the hardware/software and case management system;
- ets and maintains inventory of software and hardware throughout the department.
Requirements
- Associate’s degree in computer science or related field and two years of progressive responsibility with at least six months in a leadership capacity.
- Thorough knowledge of hardware including personal computers, network servers, routing devices, printers, plotters, etc.
- Thorough knowledge of software including network and desktop operating systems, office automation, programming languages, database products.
- Knowledge of pertinent local, state and federal laws.
- Ability to interpret policies and procedures and to analyze complex problems.
- Ability to prioritize work, meet deadlines, and manage a database.
- Current Washington State Driver's License or have requested and obtained an appropriate accommodation.
Qualifications
- Strong technical skills, knowledge and experience in court applications administration or case management systems.
- Familiar with audio, visual, recording, and conferencing systems support, preferably in a court environment.
- Thorough knowledge of MS O365 and Adobe Pro/DC.
- Thorough knowledge of various video and audio file formats associated with media players.
- Strong customer service and problem-solving skills including the ability to provide prompt and courteous responses to users’ questions or technology issues.
- Ability to work effectively under tight timelines and pressure.
- Proven ability to partner and collaborate with customers on projects and work requests; help identify business requirements, document business processes, and recommend solutions.
- Forward thinker who can enable new ideas or improved methods for system efficiencies and work solutions.
- Self-starter who can lead or participate as a member of a self-directed work team and utilize the resources of other team members.
- Ability to communicate (oral and written) clearly and effectively with all levels within the organization.
- Experience installing, configuring, and updating software applications, collaborating with software vendors, and ensuring the security of IT resources.
- Ability to interact professionally with all levels of Court personnel.
- Experience working for courts or justice system partners.
- CompTIA A+, CompTIA Network+ and Microsoft Certification(s) preferred.

Pay
$6,569 - $8,738 monthly.
Schedule
Monday – Friday, 7:00 a.m. – 4:00 p.m.
During emergencies or special projects, this position may be required to work an irregular schedule which could cause a temporary change in normal work hours.
Average Schedule - Monday – Friday, 7:00 a.m. – 4:00 p.m.
May perform other duties related to the specific business operation.
Occasional travel may be required to attend meetings or trainings and providing on-site support, including transporting equipment.
Daily interactions via phone, in-person, teams, and video with Thurston County staff and the public.
Work Environment – Work is performed primarily in an office environment in Olympia Washington. Employee regularly sits for long periods of time at a computer screen. Physical exertion is required for lifting usually not exceeding 50 lbs. Installation of various computer parts may also require bending, kneeling, stooping, reaching, and crawling.
This position is not eligible for telework.
Travel Requirements - Occasional travel may be required to attend meetings or trainings and providing on-site support, including transporting equipment.
Customer Interactions - Daily interactions via phone, in-person, teams, and video with Thurston County staff and the public.
