About the role
The National Transit Institute (NTI), at Rutgers, The State University of New Jersey, seeks to hire instructors to teach a range of topics in our Transit Planning course series. These courses include Introduction to Transportation Conformity, Introduction to Transit Service Planning, State and Metropolitan Transportation Programming, Ridership Forecasting, and Transit Noise and Vibration.
Responsibilities
- Present course materials
- Aid with other requirements related to course instruction
- Provide effective and engaging learning experiences through the presentation of course materials, leading experiential learning activities, facilitating group discussions, and performing a variety of training administrative functions
- Leverage industry knowledge and expertise to serve as a subject matter expert for the development of course content
Requirements
NTI course facilitators must have:
- Industry expertise in transportation planning
- Ability to teach effectively both virtually and in-person
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills
- Experience in developing and delivering training programs
Qualifications
Qualifications include:
- Master's degree in transportation planning, urban planning, or a related field
- At least 5 years of professional experience in transportation planning or related field
- Experience teaching at the college level or equivalent experience
- Knowledge of relevant federal regulations and policies
Skills
Skills required include:
- Excellent oral and written communication skills
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite
- Ability to manage multiple tasks and projects simultaneously

Schedule
