About the role

The Course Coordinator - History supports the implementation of OnRamps History courses, providing instructional, professional development, and technical support to instructors, students, and faculty.

Responsibilities

  • Provides 1:1 support to OnRamps instructors to ensure fidelity of implementation and teacher growth.
  • Develops and implements annual professional learning institutes for OnRamps instructors.
  • Cultivates and leads a facilitated network of OnRamps instructors through yearlong professional development activities.
  • Maintains systems to monitor curriculum implementation and provide feedback to students.
  • Communicates and collaborates with internal and external stakeholders to support the OnRamps mission.
  • Executes designated special projects supporting the organization's mission and strategic direction.

Requirements

  • Master's degree in History or closely related field and meets Instructor of Record requirements for U.S. History.
  • Five years teaching experience at a high school or college level.
  • Proficient in Canvas Learning Management System (LMS) or another LMS.
  • Exceptional customer service skills, with the ability to engage multiple internal and external stakeholders with decorum and tact.
  • Demonstrated understanding of High School teaching and learning in History courses.

Qualifications

  • Doctoral degree in History or closely related field and two years teaching experience preferred.
  • Experience developing and delivering professional-development initiatives for high school teachers preferred.
  • Experience developing and maintaining online professional learning communities for students and/or teachers preferred.
  • Attention to detail and ability to move multiple projects forward preferred.

Skills

  • Ability to communicate technical information to lay audiences using a respectful, client-focused approach.
  • Data-driven decision-making skills.
  • Project management proficiency, especially with data or project management software like Smartsheet.

Pay

$60,000 + depending on qualifications

Schedule

Weekdays, with occasional weekends and evenings for course implementation and professional learning institutes.
