Courier/Swing Drvr/DOT

About the Role

Operates company vehicles and provides courteous and efficient delivery and pick-up of packages. Checks shipments for conformance to FedEx features of service. Provides coverage for all assigned routes within the station's service area and performs related customer service functions. Performs other duties as assigned.

Requirements

• High school diploma or GED.
• Six months of courier experience preferred.
• Must be able to demonstrate area knowledge.
• Ability to lift 50 lbs.
• Ability to maneuver packages above 50 lbs with appropriate equipment or assistance.
• Good human relations and verbal communication skills.
• Thorough knowledge of the station's service area preferred.
• Demonstrated skills in adaptability, dependability, and excellent courier methods.
• Must be at least 21 years of age.
• Ability to read and speak English sufficiently to understand traffic signs and communicate with officials.
• Neat appearance due to customer contact requirements.
• Must meet and maintain qualifications outlined in federal motor carrier safety regulations.
• Requires a medical exam in accordance with FMCSA or FAA regulations.
• Must obtain and maintain a valid driver's license in accordance with state requirements.
• Good driving record as outlined in company policy.
• Ability to work in a constant state of alertness and in a safe manner.

Preferred Qualifications

• Monday through Friday schedule (14:15 - 19:15).

Pay

The pay range for this position is $25.88 - $37.23 per hour.

In New Jersey, any compensable Security and Walk time will be paid to non-exempt/hourly employees at the state minimum wage.
