Courier/Swing Drvr/DOT

Responsibilities

• Operate company vehicles and provide courteous, efficient delivery and pickup of packages
• Check shipments for conformance to FedEx features of service
• Provide coverage for all assigned routes within the station's service area
• Perform related customer service functions
• Perform other duties as assigned

Requirements

• High school diploma or GED
• Six (6) months courier experience preferred
• Must be at least 21 years of age
• Ability to demonstrate area knowledge
• Must obtain and maintain a valid driver's license in accordance with state requirements for the type of vehicle assigned
• Good driving record as outlined in company policy
• Ability to read and speak English sufficiently to understand traffic signs, communicate with traffic safety officials, and respond to official inquiries and directions per FMCSA enforcement guidance
• Must meet and maintain qualifications outlined in federal motor carrier safety regulations
• Requires medical exam in accordance with FMCSA or FAA regulations

Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities

• Ability to lift 50 lbs
• Ability to maneuver packages of any weight above 50 lbs with appropriate equipment and/or assistance from another person
• Good human relations and verbal communication skills
• Thorough knowledge of the station's service area preferred
• Demonstrated skills in adaptability, dependability, and excellent courier methods
• Ability to work in a constant state of alertness and in a safe manner

Job Conditions

• Neat appearance required due to customer contact
• Non-covered safety-sensitive position
• Specific requirements for employees operating company vehicles apply (refer to policy 4-48)

Pay

Starting wage: $25.88 per hour

Schedule

Tuesday–Friday, 7:30 a.m.–7:30 p.m.; Saturday, 8:20 a.m.–5:00 p.m.
