About the role

Operates company vehicles and provides courteous and efficient delivery and pick up of packages; checks shipments for conformance to FedEx features of service; provides coverage for all assigned routes within the station's service area; provides related customer service functions. Performs other duties as assigned.

Schedule

Full-time, Monday through Saturday with one TBD day off during the week. Approximate hours: Monday–Friday 06:30–16:00, Saturday 08:00–17:30. Some travel to other locations may be required due to operational demand.

Requirements

• High school diploma or GED
• Six months courier experience preferred
• Must be able to demonstrate area knowledge
• Must be at least 21 years of age
• Ability to read and speak English sufficiently to understand traffic signs, communicate with traffic safety officials, and respond to official inquiries and directions in accordance with FMCSA enforcement guidance
• Must obtain and maintain a valid driver's license in accordance with state requirements for the type of vehicle assigned
• Good driving record as outlined in company policy
• Non-covered safety-sensitive position
• Ability to work in a constant state of alertness and in a safe manner

Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities

• Ability to lift 50 lbs
• Ability to maneuver packages of any weight above 50 lbs with appropriate equipment and/or assistance from another person
• Good human relations and verbal communication skills
• Thorough knowledge of the station's service area preferred
• Demonstrated skills in adaptability, dependability, and excellent courier methods

Job Conditions

• Neat appearance required due to customer contact
• Must meet and maintain qualifications as outlined in federal motor carrier safety regulations
• Requires medical exam in accordance with FMCSA or FAA regulations
• Specific requirements for employees operating company vehicles (refer to policy 4-48)

Pay

Hourly rate: $24.53–$37.23
