Courier/Swing Drvr/DOT-5

Responsibilities

• Operate company vehicles and provide courteous, efficient delivery and pick-up of packages
• Check shipments for conformance to FedEx features of service
• Provide coverage for all assigned routes within the station's service area
• Perform related customer service functions
• Perform other duties as assigned

Requirements

• High school diploma or GED
• Six (6) months courier experience preferred
• Must be able to demonstrate area knowledge; thorough knowledge of the station's service area preferred
• Ability to lift 50 lbs; ability to maneuver packages over 50 lbs with appropriate equipment and/or assistance
• Good human relations and verbal communication skills
• Demonstrated skills in adaptability, dependability, and excellent courier methods
• Must be at least 21 years of age
• Ability to read and speak English sufficiently to understand traffic signs, communicate with traffic safety officials, and respond to official inquiries per FMCSA enforcement guidance
• Neat appearance required (customer contact)
• Must meet and maintain qualifications per Federal Motor Carrier Safety Regulations
• Requires medical exam per FMCSA or FAA regulations
• Must obtain and maintain a valid driver's license per state requirements for vehicle type assigned; good driving record per policy
• Non-covered safety-sensitive position
• Ability to work in a constant state of alertness and in a safe manner
• Specific requirements for employees operating company vehicles per policy 4-48

Pay

$24.53 – $37.23 per hour (starting salary range; actual pay determined by experience, market level, location, and other job-related factors).
