Courier/Swing Drvr/DOT-5

Operates company vehicles and provides courteous and efficient delivery and pick-up of packages. Checks shipments for conformance to FedEx features of service and provides related customer service functions. Covers all assigned routes within the station's service area. Performs other duties as assigned.

Requirements

• High school diploma or GED
• Six months courier experience preferred
• Ability to demonstrate knowledge of the station's service area
• Ability to lift 50 lbs
• Ability to maneuver packages above 50 lbs with appropriate equipment or assistance
• Good human relations and verbal communication skills
• At least 21 years of age
• Ability to read and speak English sufficiently to understand traffic signs and communicate with officials
• Neat appearance due to customer contact
• Must meet and maintain qualifications outlined in federal motor carrier safety regulations
• Must pass a medical exam in accordance with FMCSA or FAA regulations
• Must obtain and maintain a valid driver's license with a good driving record
• Ability to work in a constant state of alertness and in a safe manner

Preferred Qualifications

• Thorough knowledge of the station's service area
• Demonstrated skills in adaptability, dependability, and excellent courier methods

Pay

$22.30 per hour + $3/hour pay premium

Schedule

• Monday–Saturday with one day off during the week
• 8 AM–6 PM shift (subject to change)
• Five days a week at the FedEx location in Nashville, TN
