Courier/Swing Drvr/DOT-1

Operates company vehicles and provides courteous and efficient delivery and pick-up of packages. Checks shipments for conformance to FedEx features of service. Provides coverage for all assigned routes within the station's service area and performs related customer service functions. Performs other duties as assigned.

Responsibilities

• Operate company vehicles to deliver and pick up packages
• Check shipments for conformance to FedEx service features
• Cover all assigned routes within the station's service area
• Perform related customer service functions
• Lift and maneuver packages, including those above 50 lbs with appropriate equipment or assistance

Requirements

• High school diploma or GED
• Six months of courier experience preferred
• Ability to demonstrate knowledge of the service area
• Must be at least 21 years of age
• Ability to lift 50 lbs and maneuver heavier packages with assistance or equipment
• Good human relations and verbal communication skills
• Ability to read, speak, and understand English sufficiently for traffic safety and compliance with FMCSA enforcement guidance
• Neat appearance due to customer contact requirements
• Must meet and maintain qualifications outlined in federal motor carrier safety regulations
• Must pass a medical exam in accordance with FMCSA or FAA regulations
• Must obtain and maintain a valid driver's license with a good driving record as per company policy
• Ability to work in a constant state of alertness and in a safe manner

Preferred Qualifications

• Thorough knowledge of the station's service area
• Demonstrated skills in adaptability, dependability, and excellent courier methods

Pay

$22.30 per hour
