County Casework Supervisor (Local Government) - Wayne County C&Y
About the role
This position oversees key activities in the Social Services Aide Unit to ensure children and families receive support that meets agency standards and their unique needs. The role includes direct supervision, training responsibilities, and collaboration with other unit leaders.
Responsibilities
- Direct Supervision: Assign work and cases to Social Service Aids, review work, and complete performance evaluations
- Daily Operations: Approve leave, sign timesheets and payroll sheets; collaborate with other supervisors, caseworkers, and managers to oversee Aids' work; and participate in the supervisory on-call rotation
- Compliance Monitoring: Evaluate case results to ensure work aligns with approved plans, care standards, and legal requirements
- Training Support: Provide training to new and existing Aids on agency policies, procedures, best practices, and ongoing updates
- Department Planning: Help review and recommend improvements to policy and procedures that enhance operations and ensure compliance with changes to overall regulations or guidance
Requirements
Minimum Experience and Training Requirements: Two years of professional experience in public or private social work and a bachelor's degree with major course work in sociology, social welfare, psychology, gerontology, criminal justice, or other related social sciences; or Any equivalent combination of experience and education which includes 12 college credits in sociology, social welfare, psychology, gerontology, criminal justice, or other related social sciences. Qualifications
Legal Requirements: You must pass a background investigation. A conditional offer of employment will require a drug screening. This position falls under the provisions of the Child Protective Services Law. Under the Law, a conditional offer of employment will require submission and approval of satisfactory criminal history reports including, but not limited to, PA State Police clearance, PA Child Abuse history clearance, and FBI Fingerprint clearance.
