About the role

This position supports children and families as they work toward improved safety, stability, and well-being through guided casework and training.

Responsibilities

  • Client Interviews: Conduct interviews to understand family needs and assess their situations
  • Service Eligibility: Determine and verify eligibility for agency services
  • Supportive Counseling: Provide counseling, referrals, and guidance to help families improve functioning
  • Case Documentation: Maintain accurate case notes, reports, and social histories
  • Family Planning: Assist families in creating plans that support child well-being and overall improvement
  • Court and Training Participation: Attend court hearings and training sessions as assigned

Requirements

  • Work Schedule and Additional Information: Full-time employment, 37.5 hours per week. Work hours are 8:00 AM to 4:30 PM, Monday - Friday, with 1-hour lunch.
  • Employee may have overnight travel or out of County travel on a monthly basis.
  • Employee may have irregular hours, including evenings or weekends.
  • Caseworkers may be put on a rotation for on-call services which will include nights and weekends.
  • You will not have the option to telework in this position.

Qualifications

  • Minimum Experience and Training Requirements: Two years of experience as a County Social Services Aide 3 and two years of college level course work which includes 12 college credits in sociology, social welfare, psychology, gerontology, criminal justice, or other related social sciences; or A bachelor's degree which includes or is supplemented by successful completion of 12 college credits in sociology, social welfare, psychology, gerontology, criminal justice, or other related social sciences; or Any equivalent combination of experience and training which includes 12 college credits in sociology, social welfare, psychology, gerontology, criminal justice, or other related social sciences and one year of experience as a County Social Services Aide 3 or in a similar position performing paraprofessional case management functions.
  • Other Requirements: PA residency requirement is currently waived for this title. You must be able to perform essential job functions.
