About the role
Located in Honesdale, PA, Wayne County Human Services, Children & Youth Agency seeks motivated and compassionate individuals to support children and families.
Responsibilities
- Conduct Interviews: Interview clients, families, and collateral contacts to identify barriers affecting child safety and well-being.
- Assess Needs: Evaluate eligibility for services and determine the supports families require.
- Create Family Service Plans: Develop family service plans, make referrals, and manage an active caseload.
- Maintain Records: Keep organized, accurate case files and documentation.
- Support Families: Provide supervised counseling and assist with protective services for children.
- Prepare Reports: Complete assessments, home studies, reports, and court testimony as needed.
Requirements
- Minimum six months of experience as a County Caseworker 1.
- Successful completion of the County Social Casework Intern program.
- A bachelor's degree with a social welfare major.
- A bachelor's degree supplemented by 12 college credits in sociology, social welfare, psychology, gerontology, criminal justice, or other related social sciences, plus one year of professional social casework experience.
- Any equivalent combination of experience and training meeting the minimum requirements.
Qualifications
- PA residency requirement is currently waived for this title.
- Must be able to perform essential job functions.
Skills
Strong communication, sound judgment, and organizational skills are valued.

Schedule
Full-time employment, 37.5 hours per week. Work hours are 8:00 am to 4:30 pm, Monday - Friday, with a 1-hour lunch. On-call 24/7 on a rotating basis. Irregular hours, including evenings and weekends.
