Location

DSG is seeking a Plumbing & HVAC Counter Sales Associate in our Winona, MN location.

About the Role

In this full time, hourly position, work is typically performed between the hours of 7:30 am and 4:30 pm, Monday through Friday, but may vary on occasion according to business needs.

Responsibilities

  • Assist customers at the City Desk with order placement and fulfillment
  • Aid in all aspects of warehouse duties, including deliveries
  • Restock the counter area according to product brand and location
  • Maintain a clean and appealing counter display area
  • Identify and encourage the sale of additional products as applicable
  • Pull material from location to fill each order
  • Pack, label, and place filled orders in proper location for delivery
  • Ensure a clean, safe working environment
  • Use computer and/or RF gun to check on status, availability, and location of product
  • Notify Branch Manager about shortages or overages in inventory
  • Load delivery trucks as needed
  • Handle calls for warehouse when needed
  • Assist in receiving as workload permits
  • Unload materials as per customer instruction specific to the order or standing instructions to customer's place of business or warehouse facility
  • Stay compliant with DOT/FMCSA and OSHA regulations including completion of training activities as required in DSG policy and/or by regulatory authorities
  • Adhere to DSG’s safety policy and vehicle safety program
  • Keep truck clean inside and out and report any maintenance issues

Requirements

  • Valid Driver's License and acceptable driving record, with a current DOT medical card or the ability to obtain one
  • Product and technical knowledge normally acquired in two or more years of college or technical school OR 3-5 years field experience in the residential/commercial applications of plumbing & HVAC products
  • Safety training on material handling and forklift driving
  • Excellent relationship building skills
  • Outstanding interpersonal, customer service and communication skills across a variety of settings (in-person, phone, and email)
  • Strong attention to detail, paired with the ability to multi-task
  • A knack for active listening to determine customer needs
  • Superior problem solving, project management, and analytical skills
  • A high proficiency with computers – experience in Eclipse or other ERP systems preferred
  • The ability to plan, prioritize and organize work effectively under pressure and time constraints
  • The ability to work as part of a team
  • Commitment to workplace safety
  • Physical ability to lift, push, pull or move items weighing 70-325lbs. with the aid of mechanical device or another person

Qualifications
