Counter Sales Person

Responsibilities

• Provide assistance to customers during the sales/purchase process and respond to customer inquiries in a professional manner.
• Maintain awareness of all product knowledge information, including product catalogs, price sheets, product promotions, and advertisements.
• Market all products sold and suggest replacement or alternative products when appropriate.
• Operate in a safety‑sensitive environment, maintaining constant awareness and safe work practices.
• Undergo a pre‑employment drug test covering amphetamines, cocaine, marijuana, methamphetamines, opiates, oxycodone, and phencyclidines per HHS and SAMHSA cutoff levels.
• Subject to a background check; only job‑related convictions will be considered.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent preferred.
• Experience with Microsoft Word and Excel.
• Minimum one year experience in the electrical industry or knowledge of electrical products.
• Strong mathematical ability.
• Basic familiarity with personal computer use.
• Clear and concise written and verbal communication skills.
• Demonstrated time management and organizational skills, with ability to plan and manage multiple priorities simultaneously.
• Ability to work well in a team environment.
• Strong customer service orientation.

Physical Requirements

• Ability to stand and walk for prolonged periods.
• Ability to use a computer keyboard, monitor, and telephone.
• Ability to bend, climb, push, and pull, including maneuvering at heights and in tight or small spaces.
• Ability to routinely lift, carry, and transport work‑related materials weighing up to 70 lb, and occasionally exceeding 70 lb.
