Counter Sales/Backup Local Delivery Driver (CDL B)

Location: Mankato, MN – Retail shop

About the role

We are seeking a versatile professional for a hybrid role that bridges customer service, warehouse operations, and commercial delivery. The majority of your time will focus on inside sales, inventory support, and client service at our local branch, with occasional travel to support our nearby Dodge Center location. You will also serve as a vital backup driver, stepping into a local delivery box truck to transport medical and industrial products during high-traffic periods or vacation coverage.

Responsibilities

• Assist clients with accounts, process orders, and handle logistics coordination using modern digital shipping and tracking tools.
• Maintain inventory accuracy and participate in cross-functional branch tasks to keep daily operations organized and efficient.
• Serve as the backup commercial driver when needed, safely operating a box truck to deliver industrial and medical products. On driving days, routes typically average 10 to 12 stops and cover 150 to 200 miles.
• Maintain adaptability to support both the local Mankato team and the Dodge Center facility (located approximately one hour away).
• Regularly lift 75 lbs and move more than 125 lbs with the aid of material handling equipment.

Requirements

• Valid Class B CDL with HAZMAT (or able to obtain within 90 days from hire date) and Airbrake endorsements.
• Maintain appropriate driver’s license, medical card, and endorsements.
• No more than two traffic convictions or two at-fault accidents in the last 3 years; or no more than a combination of one traffic conviction and one at-fault accident in the last 3 years.
• No driving under the influence of alcohol or a controlled substance within the last seven years.
• Must be able to work in a drug-free environment.
• One year of CDL driving experience in the last 5 years or proof of a certificate of completion from trucking school completed in the last 12 months.
