Counter Sales Associate/Backup Delivery Driver (CDL B)

Location: Rutland, VT - Retail shop

Hourly pay rate: $28.00

This is a unique hybrid position that blends in-store customer sales with local driving and delivery. If you enjoy building customer relationships, have a knack for sales, and hold a CDL, this is the perfect position for you!

Responsibilities

• Selling industrial, medical, and specialty gases, welding supplies, and related equipment, including soliciting sales from both new and existing customers.
• Assisting customers via email, telephone, and in-person walk-ins, providing guidance on equipment usage and material requirements.
• Managing the loading and unloading of cylinders, operating forklifts, and serving as a backup driver when necessary.
• Monitoring and maintaining proper hardgoods and cylinder levels to prevent supply emergencies.
• Managing accounts receivable, including discussing past-due accounts and collecting payments.
• Ensuring all paperwork is accurately completed, including coding, costing, and pricing.

Requirements

• Must be at least 21 years of age.
• Must have a valid Class B or better CDL.
• Must have HAZMAT endorsement or be able to obtain the endorsement within 90 days of being hired.
• Must have at least 1 year of verifiable commercial driving experience within the last 5 years.
• Successful completion of Airgas Background and Motor Vehicle Check.
• DOT Clearinghouse verification from previous employers is required.
• Ability to routinely lift 25–75 lbs., and occasionally lift 76 to greater than 100 lbs.
• Willingness to work outdoors in changing temperatures.
• Ability to maintain a drug-free workplace.
• Adherence to safety regulations and policies.

Preferred Qualifications

• High School Diploma or equivalent.
• Forklift Experience.
• Customer Service experience.
• Touch freight delivery experience.
