Counter Sales Associate/Backup Delivery Driver (CDL B)

About the role

This is a unique hybrid position that blends warehouse duties, in-store customer sales with local driving and delivery. If you enjoy building customer relationships, have a knack for sales, and hold a CDL, this is the perfect position for you!

Responsibilities

• Sales & Business Development: Selling industrial, medical, and specialty gases, welding supplies, and related equipment. This includes soliciting sales from both new and existing customers.
• Customer Support: Assisting customers via email, telephone, and in-person walk-ins. Providing guidance on equipment usage and material requirements.
• Operations & Logistics: Managing the loading and unloading of cylinders, operating forklifts, and serving as a backup driver when necessary.
• Inventory Management: Monitoring and maintaining proper hardgoods and cylinder levels to prevent supply emergencies.
• Administrative & Financial: Managing accounts receivable, including discussing past-due accounts and collecting payments. Ensuring all paperwork is accurately completed, including coding, costing, and pricing.

Qualifications

• Must be at least 21 years of age
• Must have a valid Class B or better CDL
• Must have HAZMAT endorsement
• Must have at least 1 year of verifiable commercial driving experience within the last 5 years
• Successful completion of Airgas Background and Motor Vehicle Check
• DOT Clearinghouse verification from previous employers is required
• Ability to routinely lift 25 – 75 lbs., and occasionally lift 76 to greater than 100 lbs.
• Willingness to work outdoors in changing temperatures
• Ability to maintain a drug-free workplace
• Adherence to safety regulations and policies

Preferred qualifications

• High School Diploma or equivalent
• Forklift Experience
• Customer Service experience
• Touch freight delivery experience

Schedule

Monday - Friday, AM start time

Pay

Hourly pay range of $28 - $29, plus Driver Bonus (Quarterly Payout) and Gain Share (Quarterly Payout)
