Counter Sales Associate/Backup Delivery Driver (CDL B)

About the role

We are hiring a Counter Sales Associate/Backup Delivery Driver in Greenfield, MA. This is a unique hybrid position that blends in-store customer sales with local driving and delivery.

Responsibilities

• Selling industrial, medical, and specialty gases, welding supplies, and related equipment.
• Soliciting sales from both new and existing customers.
• Assisting customers via email, telephone, and in-person walk-ins.
• Providing guidance on equipment usage and material requirements.
• Managing the loading and unloading of cylinders, operating forklifts, and serving as a backup driver when necessary.
• Maintaining proper hardgoods and cylinder levels to prevent supply emergencies.
• Managing accounts receivable, including discussing past-due accounts and collecting payments.
• Affirmatively recruiting and retaining underrepresented groups in the workplace.

Requirements

• Must be at least 21 years of age.
• Must have a valid Class B or better CDL.
• Must have HAZMAT endorsement or be able to obtain the endorsement within 90 days of being hired.
• Must have at least 1 year of verifiable commercial driving experience within the last 5 years.
• Successful completion of Airgas Background and Motor Vehicle Check.
• DOT Clearinghouse verification from previous employers is required.
• Ability to routinely lift 25 – 75 lbs., and occasionally lift 76 to greater than 100 lbs.
• Willingness to work outdoors in changing temperatures.
• Ability to maintain a drug-free workplace.
• Adherence to safety regulations and policies.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or equivalent.
• Forklift Experience.
• Customer Service experience.
• Touch freight delivery experience.
