Counter Sales Associate/ Backup Delivery Driver (CDL B)

About the role

This hybrid position blends in-store customer sales with local driving and delivery. You will move between sales, warehouse operations, and local driving — building customer relationships, selling industrial, medical, and specialty gases, welding supplies, and related equipment, while also serving as a backup delivery driver (CDL B required).

Responsibilities

• Sales & Business Development: Selling industrial, medical, and specialty gases, welding supplies, and related equipment; soliciting sales from new and existing customers.
• Customer Support: Assisting customers via email, telephone, and in-person walk-ins; providing guidance on equipment usage and material requirements.
• Operations & Logistics: Managing loading and unloading of cylinders, operating forklifts, and serving as a backup driver when necessary.
• Inventory Management: Monitoring and maintaining proper hardgoods and cylinder levels to prevent supply emergencies.
• Administrative & Financial: Managing accounts receivable, including discussing past-due accounts and collecting payments; ensuring all paperwork is accurately completed, including coding, costing, and pricing.

Requirements

Required Qualifications

• At least 21 years of age
• Valid Class B (or better) CDL
• HAZMAT endorsement, or ability to obtain within 90 days of hire
• At least 1 year of verifiable commercial driving experience within the last 5 years
• Successful completion of Airgas background and motor vehicle check
• DOT Clearinghouse verification from previous employers
• Ability to routinely lift 25–75 lbs., and occasionally lift 76 to 100+ lbs.
• Willingness to work outdoors in changing temperatures
• Ability to maintain a drug-free workplace
• Adherence to safety regulations and policies

Preferred Qualifications

• High School Diploma or equivalent
• Forklift experience
• Customer service experience
• Touch freight delivery experience

Pay

• Hourly rate: $33.00
• Driver Bonus (quarterly payout)
• Gain Share (quarterly payout)

• Monday – Friday, morning start time
