Counselor/ Social Worker, 0.5 FTE

Dover-Eyota High School and Middle School is seeking a 0.5 FTE Counselor or Social Worker (20 hours per week) until the end of the school year (May 28). We are flexible in format for the 20 hours (ex. two 8-hour days and one 4-hour day, five 4-hour days, etc.). Job Objective: Provide direct and indirect social/ emotional/ mental health services to students and families and act as a liaison between family, school, and community. Required Qualifications/ Skills Professional licensure in the State of MN as a School Counselor or Social WorkerStrong work ethic, high ethical standards, self-confidence, good time-management skillsExcellent interpersonal skills, including communication and listening skillsPositive, professional, and collaborative with othersEnthusiastic about working with young people Performance Responsibilities & Duties Keep proper records and case notesMonitor and support students in maintaining satisfactory academics, engagement, and attendance progressAssess student and family needs by collecting, evaluating, and documenting information about the student's situation, personal and family needs, and personal and family strengthsCoordinate and make outreach and referrals for needed community services to best support students and their familiesProvide crisis interventions and counseling as needed for students and familiesProvide ongoing social, emotional, and mental health support to studentsProvide conflict mediation and crisis management support to students and families We value our staff and believe they have a great influence on a child's life.
