Job Summary
Planning and Preparation
- Demonstrates knowledge of child and adolescent development
- Establishes general outcomes for the support services appropriate to the setting and the students served
- Demonstrates knowledge of resources, both within and beyond the school and district
- Plans support services to meet the needs of individual students
- Develops a plan to evaluate the support services provided
Classroom/Therapeutic Environment

Instruction/Delivery of Service
- Provides direct services in the classroom without pulling students from the room
- Assesses student needs

Qualifications
- Valid Illinois teaching license with proper endorsement(s): school social work
- Ability to effectively collaborate
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
- Skilled in use of instructional technology
- Experience or interest in working with students with moderate to severe behavioral and emotional disabilities
- Trained in Nonviolent Crisis Interventions or willing to obtain this certification
