Counselor - School Age Child Care (Chester Program Locations)

About the role

Be a Hero After the Bell Rings! Join the YMCA of Greater Richmond. We are looking for positive, energetic role models to join our team in the Chester Region as a Before & After-School Child Care Counselor.

The position is located at Bellwood Elementary, Ecoff Elementary, Curtis Elementary, Beulah Elementary and the Chester Family YMCA, with hours on weekdays from 6:45am-9:15am and/or 3:30pm-6:15pm.

This is a part-time, hourly position. As a team member, you will receive a free individual metro-wide Y membership, and excellent training, development and career opportunities.

Responsibilities

• Create fun, engaging activities that help kids grow and thrive
• Support youth development through structured play, learning, and leadership
• Supervise and inspire a group of awesome school-age children
• Be a trusted mentor and a daily highlight in a child's life

Requirements

• A positive attitude and a passion for working with kids
• Reliability, creativity, and energy to spare
• Must be 18 with high school diploma or GED
• 6 months of experience is required but your enthusiasm matters most!
