COTA - Therapy Asst

Position Overview

Western State Hospital is seeking a COTA Therapy Assistant to implement psychosocial programs designed to promote and maintain health, reinforce, restore and enhance task performance.

Key Responsibilities

  • Conducts and co-facilitates up to 4 hours of psychosocial rehabilitation interventions per day across various learning centers and assigned PCU per COVID-19 protocols
  • Ensures that interventions are appropriate to individual client’s ages, interests, and abilities as reflected by assessment data
  • Completes assigned documentation according to facility and departmental guidelines
  • Attends a minimum of 6 PSR staff development sessions per year
  • Conducts at least one satisfaction survey of consumers served in group per quarter
  • Supervises and/or co-supervises level 1 and level 2 OTA and OT students

Minimum Qualifications

  • Graduation from an accredited occupational therapy assistant program
  • Experience in patient care
  • Licensed by the Virginia Board
