COTA- Director of Life Enrichment

About the role

As the Director of Life Enrichment, you will plan, organize, develop, and direct the overall operation of the Life Enrichment Department, including oversight of the Spiritual Care Coordinator role, in accordance with federal, state, and local standards, guidelines, regulations, and established policies and procedures. You will assure an ongoing program of activities designed to meet each resident’s interests and physical, mental, spiritual, and psychosocial well-being per their comprehensive care plan.

Responsibilities

• Work closely with Therapy, Nursing, and MDS to provide Occupational Therapy plans of treatments and modalities per physician orders.
• Document resident progress toward occupational therapy goals.
• Maintain current and professional knowledge of Occupational Therapy practices within acceptable professional standards.
• Finalize all activity calendars.
• Oversee completion of Life Enrichment assessments after admission to establish an activity care plan with measurable goals.

Requirements

• Current New York State COTA Licensure.
• Minimum of 3‑5 years’ experience dealing with social or recreational programs (geriatric population preferred).
• Experience in instruction and activities programming related to the aged, ill, and/or handicapped.
• Experience in community affairs/relations with proven ability to coordinate activities and programs.
• Excellent and proven customer service skills with referral sources.
• Prior supervisory experience preferred.
