About the role

Mrs. Claus's not-so-little helper. He's lovable, bumbling, and full of snowy puns. Seasonal position from October through January with a minimum of 24 hours a week.

Responsibilities

  • Lead and/or perform in Character themed shows following basic scripts and using improvisation during shows as needed
  • Perform in character costume, including basic dance routines and singing
  • Encourage, recruit, register, and schedule guests to participate in various activities
  • Promote a fun, energized and comfortable atmosphere for guests
  • Provide information to guests about available recreation facilities and activities, including providing tours
  • Serve as Host for live events and activities
  • Explain and promote the rules and regulations of the facility intended for the safety and welfare of guests
  • Observe activity in the facility and respond appropriately in accordance with local operating procedure in the event of an emergency
  • Be aware of possible situations where guests are not able to safely participate in an activity and inform supervisor/manager
  • Prepare for show and clean and maintain equipment and supplies
  • Follow all company and safety and security policies and procedures
  • Verify uniform and personal appearances are clean and professional
  • Maintain confidentiality of proprietary information and protect company assets
  • Report accidents, injuries, and unsafe work conditions to manager
  • Welcome and acknowledge all guests according to company standards, anticipate and address guests' service needs, assist individuals with disabilities, and thank guests with genuine appreciation
  • Speak with others using clear and professional language; answer telephones using appropriate etiquette
  • Prepare and review written documents accurately and completely; read and visually verify information in a variety of formats
  • Comply with quality assurance expectations and standards
  • Develop and maintain positive working relationships with others, support team to reach common goals, and listen and respond appropriately to the concerns of employees
  • Visually inspect tools, equipment, or machines (e.g., to identify defects)
  • Move, lift, carry, push, pull, and place objects weighing less than or equal to 50 pounds without assistance
  • Move through narrow, confined, or elevated spaces
  • Move over sloping, uneven, or slippery surfaces as well as up and down stairs and/or service ramps
  • Reach overhead and below the knees, including bending, twisting, pulling, and stooping
  • Exposure to outdoor elements, wet and/or humid conditions as well as extreme heat/cold (non-environmental)
  • Work near loud noises, around and in large crowds, and in tight and dark spaces, including in a large costume
  • Continual use of manual dexterity with frequent use of bi-manual dexterity
  • Maintain size and weight requirements based on costume's pre-determined size
  • Wear and carry special events props and gear for long periods of time
  • Perform inside bulky costume for long periods of time
  • Identify and distinguish colors
  • Perform other reasonable job duties as requested

Qualifications

  • Must be a confident performer capable of performing in front of and engaging audiences in live-show activities
  • Must have demonstrated experience in previous roles performing the following:
    • Accurately and consistently portray the pre-determined style, characteristics and mannerisms of each role without any deviation
    • Perform inside bulky, hot costumes for long periods of time
    • Maintain size and weight requirements based on costume's pre-determined size
    • Work with large quantities of groups and children
    • Stand for extended periods of time
  • High school diploma or G.E.D. equivalent preferred
  • Minimum of 1-year customer or sales experience preferred
  • Previous public performance, acting, and entertainment experience preferred
  • Experience entertaining children and large groups of people preferred
  • CPR Certification and First Aid Certification required
  • Based on costume's pre-determined size restriction, maintain size and weight requirements

Pay

$26.25-$26.25 per hour

Schedule

Full Time, Seasonal Oct-Jan, minimum of 24 hours a week
