Cost Accounting Consultant

About the role

Bridgepoint Consulting is seeking Accountants at all levels of experience with strong cost accounting and inventory expertise to join our growing Austin team. You’ll support clients in a wide range of interim and project-based accounting needs, working in a fast-paced, impactful environment ideal for those who thrive in consulting and enjoy helping growing companies succeed.

Responsibilities

• 5–8 years of hands-on full-cycle accounting experience with mid-size companies
• Manufacturing accounting, inventory management, and building and maintaining job costing models
• Develop, maintain, and analyze standard costs for raw materials, labor, and overhead
• Partner with plant managers and operations teams to identify cost savings opportunities and improve manufacturing performance
• Perform inventory accounting, including reconciliations, reserves, and valuation
• Lead or support physical inventories and cycle count programs while investigating inventory discrepancies
• Prepare and/or review monthly account reconciliations
• Demonstrate a strong understanding of U.S. GAAP, including researching technical GAAP issues within a manufacturing environment
• Adapt to various client environments and communicate effectively at all levels within the organization

Requirements

• Bachelor’s Degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related business field
• Strong desire for consulting-style work and delivering excellent client service
• Analytical mindset with strong attention to detail
• Business partnership and communication skills
• Problem-solving and critical-thinking abilities
• Hungry, humble, and smart attitude

Preferred Qualifications

• Work experience with both public and private companies
• Experience in middle-market manufacturing organizations ($50M–$500M revenue preferred)
• Hands-on experience with ERP systems such as Microsoft Dynamics, NetSuite, Epicor, Infor, SAP Business One, Oracle, or Plex
• Certified Public Accountant (CPA) license or MBA
• Prior employment by a Big 4 or other nationally recognized accounting firm
