Key Responsibilities
- Serve as a client-facing Cost Consultant who assists with strategic, tactical, and technical advice.
- Interface with clients, external and internal consultants at all project stages.
- Conduct feasibility studies and produce procurement reports.
- Produce ROMs for new and pipeline projects for a project budget to be based on.
- Day to day cost management of medium-large scale client projects including procurement, pay requests, change management and cost reporting.
- Manage the procurement process, ensuring that all stages including, pre-qualification, enquiry, evaluation, selection and contract preparation are performed effectively.
- Ensure post contract cost variances, change control, cost checking and valuation processes are managed effectively.
- Ensure the production of monthly post contract and cost reports and present them to the client.
- Provide value engineering and life cycle costing.
- Update benchmarking efforts as new projects are executed to provide real cost data to client.
You’ll Need To Have
- Degree in Construction Management, Engineering, Quantity Surveying or related field (MS, MBA preferred).
- Proven experience in cost consultancy.
- Minimum 5+ years of relevant experience working in a cost management role in the construction industry.
- Cost planning, budgeting and estimating experience.
- Sound understanding of costs and timescales of work undertaken and implications of risk of failure to deliver.
- Understanding different types of contract including the method of measurement.
- Negotiation skills.
