Cost Accountant
About the role
Advanced Measurement Technology (AMT), part of AMETEK’s Materials Analysis Division, is seeking a Cost Accountant to support operational and accounting activities in a manufacturing environment.
Responsibilities
Ensure accurate product costing, including review of BOMs, overhead rates, and related components
Provide cost analysis to support pricing reviews
Perform make vs. buy analysis
Lead the annual standard cost review process
Capture and monitor accounting for special projects
Support Operations by developing and maintaining dashboards, metrics, and related reporting
Plan, coordinate, and assist with reconciliation of cycle counts and physical inventories
Maintain documentation of procedures performed
Identify opportunities for cost reduction and process improvements and support implementation
Perform other duties as assigned
General Ledger & Financial Activities
Assist with month-end close activities and preparation of monthly financial statements
Support the implementation and maintenance of internal financial controls and procedures
Prepare and review account reconciliations to ensure accuracy
Prepare journal entries
Absorb and respond to internal and external audit requests
Ensure adherence to corporate and divisional policies and procedures
Prepare ad hoc reports and analyses and communicate findings cross-functionally
Perform other duties as assigned
Requirements
Education & Experience: Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or Business Administration required; 3 to 5 years of relevant experience required; experience in a manufacturing environment; experience with standard cost build-up through BOMs and routings
Technical Knowledge: Exposure to Sarbanes-Oxley (SOX) requirements; experience with Oracle ERP systems; proficiency in Microsoft Office (Excel, Word, PowerPoint)
Soft Skills: Strong analytical skills; excellent communication, presentation, and writing abilities; ability to work independently with minimal supervision
