Required Qualifications
- Manage daily operations, scheduling, and coordination in the cosmetology lab rooms and student salon/spa areas.
- Collaborate with faculty and leadership to ensure compliance with TDLR standards and guidelines.
- Afford assistance to instructors with setup and breakdown of demonstrations and student activities.
- Maintain an adequate stock of supplies and tools; keep an inventory of current stock and tools; order items as requested; receive stock and supplies; and properly store all items.
- Maintain a record of supplies used each semester to aid in determining current/future needs.
- Organize labs, student salon/spa, and storage areas for efficiency. Put supplies and equipment away after use.
- Enforce sanitation and safety procedures per TDLR standards and ensure all equipment is in proper working condition.
- Afford assistance in implementing proper safety procedures and standards; identify and report potential safety hazards. Dispose of materials according to proper guidelines. Maintain compliance with health regulations.
- Maintain equipment in the lab and student salon/spa areas. Report equipment problems and prepare appropriate requisitions for equipment repairs and routine maintenance. Follow up on completed repairs to ensure equipment is operating satisfactorily.
- Afford assistance with inspections and audits.
- Maintain all necessary records and logs.

- Knowledge of guidelines for the profession of cosmetology as set forth by the Texas Department of Licensing and Regulation (TDLR)

Physical Demands, Working Conditions and Physical Effort
- Medium Work - Exerting up to 50 pounds of force occasionally, up to 25 pounds of force frequently, and/or up to 25 pounds of force constantly having to move objects.
- Talking, hearing, seeing, grasping, standing, walking and repetitive motions, stooping, kneeling, crouching, and reaching, climbing and balancing, plus pushing, pulling, and lifting.
- Occasional exposure to unpleasant environmental conditions and/or hazards.
- Frequent physical effort required.
Requirements
- Certificate or associate degree in Cosmetology, and a minimum of five (5) years of professional cosmetology experience.
- An active Texas Cosmetology Operator License from TDLR is required.
- Experience in a cosmetology school setting.
- Inventory or operations experience.
