Corrections Wastewater Treatment Plant Foreman

DESCRIPTION OF WORK

This position plays an important part in the daily operation and upkeep of the wastewater treatment plant at SCI Mercer. The work supports the efficiency, health, and stability of the entire plant system. As a Corrections Wastewater Treatment Plant Foreman, you will perform the following duties:

• Plant Operations: Maintain smooth and efficient operation of the treatment plant under normal and emergency conditions
• Equipment Maintenance: Operate and maintain plant machinery such as pumps, motors, filters, and other mechanical systems
• Water Testing: Perform testing of influent and effluent water and maintain logs and records
• Work Crew Oversight: Guide inmate workers, monitor movement, and maintain security procedures in work areas
• Process Management: Complete paperwork, order supplies, and make recommendations for equipment or process improvements

QUALIFICATIONS

• REQUIRED EXPERIENCE, TRAINING & ELIGIBILITY
• Minimum Experience and Training Requirements: One year of experience in the operation and maintenance of a wastewater treatment plant.
• Special Requirements: You must be in possession of a valid certification issued by the Pennsylvania State Board for Certification of Water and Wastewater Systems Operators as a wastewater treatment plant operator that is equal to or higher than the Class E, Subclasses 1 and 4.
• You must be in possession of a valid Pennsylvania non-commercial Class C driver’s license or equivalent.
• Additional Requirements: Successful completion of basic training in Elizabethtown, PA is required.

SCHEDULE

Full-time employment, 40 hours per week. Work hours are 7:00 AM to 3:00 PM. Your pass days will be determined during the hiring process.
