Corrections Masonry Trade Instructor - SCI Mahanoy
Description of Work
This position provides structured classroom and hands-on masonry training to support both inmate development and facility operations. The role focuses on teaching, supervision, and safe completion of masonry tasks. As a Corrections Masonry Trade Instructor, you will perform the following duties:
- Masonry Training: Teach inmates standard techniques for constructing, repairing, and maintaining masonry surfaces and structures
- Classroom Instruction: Deliver a clear curriculum that explains masonry principles, methods, and safe work practices
- Work Crew Leadership: Guide inmate work crews in completing masonry jobs as part of on the job learning
- Record Management: Document inmate progress, attendance, and assignment information accurately
- Tool and Material Control: Issue, track, and account for tools and materials used during instruction and project work
Qualifications
Minimum Experience and Training Requirements: Four years of experience in laying brick, blocks, and other types of building materials, and binding with mortar to construct or repair walls; or Completion of an approved apprenticeship in the masonry trade; or An equivalent combination of experience and training which includes one year of journey level work in the masonry trade.

You must be able to perform essential job functions.
