Corrections Plumbing Trade Instructor - SCI Pine Grove

Responsibilities

• Training Delivery: Provide classroom and hands-on instruction in plumbing systems, methods, and procedures
• Work Supervision: Direct inmate work crews, assign schedules, and inspect completed plumbing tasks
• Record Keeping: Maintain documentation of training progress, attendance, and work assignments
• Tool Control: Issue, inventory, and account for tools and materials used during training and work projects
• Project Planning: Identify needed materials and submit purchase requests for plumbing assignments

Qualifications

Minimum Experience and Training Requirements: Five years of experience in the inspection, maintenance, repair, assembly, and installation of pipes, fittings, and fixtures used in heating, water, and drainage systems; or Completion of an approved apprenticeship in the plumbing trade; or An equivalent combination of experience and training which includes one year of journey level work in the plumbing trade.

Other Requirements: Successful completion of basic training in Elizabethtown, PA is required. You must meet the PA residency requirement. You must be able to perform essential job functions.

Legal Requirement: You must pass a background investigation and meet Criminal Justice Information Services (CJIS) compliance requirements.

Benefits

This position is eligible for full retirement benefits at age 50 or 55.

Pay

Selected candidates who are new to employment with the Commonwealth of Pennsylvania will begin employment at the starting annual salary of $53,036.00 (before taxes).

Schedule

Full-time employment, 40 hours per week. Work hours are 7:00 AM to 3:00 PM, Monday - Friday, with a 30-minute lunch. Telework is not available for this position.
