Corrections Plumbing Trade Instructor - SCI Forest
Description of Work
This position provides structured classroom and hands-on instruction in the plumbing trade to support inmate vocational goals and effective facility operations. As a Corrections Trade Instructor, you will perform the following duties:
- Deliver Training: Provide classroom and on the job instruction in standard plumbing practices, methods, and techniques
- Oversee Work Crews: Guide, assist, and monitor inmate work crews as they complete assignments
- Document Progress: Maintain accurate records of inmate training progress, attendance, and assignment details
- Manage Tool Use: Issue, track, conduct searches, and account for all tools and materials use during training and work activities
- Request Materials: Identify materials needed to complete assignments and submit purchase requests as needed
Work Schedule and Additional Information
Full-time employment, 40 hours per week
Work hours are 7:30 AM to 3:30 PM, Monday – Friday
This position is eligible for full retirement benefits at age 50 or 55.
Telework: You will not have the option to telework in this position.
Pay
Selected candidates who are new to employment within the Commonwealth of Pennsylvania will begin employment at the starting annual salary of $53,036 (before taxes).

Qualifications
Minimum Experience and Training Requirements: Five years of experience in the inspection, maintenance, repair, assembly, and installation of pipes, fittings, and fixtures used in heating, water, and drainage systems; or Completion of an approved apprenticeship in the plumbing trade; or An equivalent combination of experience and training which includes one year of journey level work in the plumbing trade.

You must be able to perform essential job functions.
