This role oversees factory operations to support safe production, quality control, and organized workflow.
Responsibilities
- Staff and Inmate Supervision: Provide direction, training, and evaluations for staff and inmate workers
- Product Oversight: Guide product design, development, and quality checks from start to finish
- Production Planning: Organize schedules, inventory levels, and shipping timelines to meet needs
- Material Management: Control the receipt, storage, and use of materials, equipment, and supplies
- Record Maintenance: Manage factory records so they align with retention rules and standards
Requirements
Minimum Experience and Training Requirements:
- One year as a Corrections General Industries Factory Foreperson (Commonwealth job title or equivalent Federal Government job title, as determined by the Office of Administration); or
- Four years of experience in the production of goods or services, which includes one year of lead work experience; or
- An equivalent combination of experience and training, which includes one year of lead work experience in the production of goods or services.
Other Requirements:
- You must meet the PA residency requirement.
- Successful completion of basic training in Elizabethtown, PA is required.
- You must be able to perform essential job functions.
- You must pass a background investigation and meet Criminal Justice Information Services (CJIS) compliance requirements.
Schedule
- Full-time employment, 40-hour work week
- Work hours are 7:00 AM to 3:00 PM, Monday - Friday
- This position is not eligible for telework
Pay
Selected candidates who are new to employment with the Commonwealth of Pennsylvania will begin employment at the starting annual salary of $59,588.00 (before taxes).
Benefits
This position is eligible for full retirement benefits at age 50 or 55.
