Corrections General Industries Factory Foreperson - SCI Waymart Correctional Industries

About the role

This position oversees production activities within the SCI Waymart CI Garment Plant by training and guiding inmate workers in manufacturing tasks. It supports safe operations, accurate recordkeeping, and the overall efficiency of factory processes.

Responsibilities

• Worker Training: Instruct inmate workers in production methods, equipment use, and computer-based reporting
• Safety Oversight: Maintain secure work areas, monitor inmate movement, and enforce tool and supply controls
• Operational Monitoring: Use SAP to track orders, inventory, and production activity for smooth operations
• Process Improvement: Review records and recommend updates to equipment or production methods
• Administrative Tasks: Submit attendance records, contribute to progress reports, and complete required documentation

Qualifications

• Minimum Experience and Training Requirements: Three years of experience in the production of goods or services; or an associate degree in industrial technology, operations management, business administration, or a related field; and one year of work experience in the production of goods or services; or an equivalent combination of experience and training, which includes one year of work experience in the production of goods or services.
• Other Requirements: Successful completion of basic training in Elizabethtown, PA is required. You must meet the PA residency requirement.
• Legal Requirements: You must pass a background investigation and meet Criminal Justice Information Services (CJIS) compliance requirements.
