Job Summary

The Correctional Supervising Cook, CF, under the direction of the Food Administrator I/II or the supervision of the Supervising Correctional Cook, DOC, supervises and trains staff and inmate-workers responsible for preparing meals for patients in a correctional health care facility. This role also oversees the preparation and dispensing of therapeutic diets per physician orders, ensures compliance with departmental and institutional policies, and maintains the cleanliness and sanitation of the kitchen facility.

Qualifications

  • Education: High school diploma or equivalent.
  • Experience: At least one year of experience in food service operations, preferably in a correctional setting.
  • Skills: Proficiency in cooking techniques, knowledge of therapeutic diets, ability to train and supervise staff, and strong organizational skills.

Working Conditions

Travel may be required.
