CORRECTIONAL SUPERVISING COOK (CF) - CALIFORNIA MEDICAL FACILITY
Job Description and Duties
Under the direction of the Food Administrator I/II, Correctional Facility (CF) or the supervision of the Supervising Correctional Cook, DOC, the Correctional Supervising Cook, CF, supervises and trains staff and the incarcerated workers responsible for preparing meals for patients in a correctional health care facility and oversees the preparation and dispensing of therapeutic diets per physician orders. Ensures staff and the incarcerated workers follow all departmental and institutional policies and procedures including, Title 15, Department Operations Manual, California Code of Regulations Title 22, Standard Operational Procedures, Diet Manual, California Retail Food Code, and Food & Nutrition Services Manual. The Correctional Supervising Cook, CF supervises the cleaning and sanitation of the kitchen facility and equipment. Maintains order and supervises the conduct of the incarcerated and protects and maintains the safety of persons and property.

Possession of Minimum Qualifications
Posession of Minimum Qualifications will be verified prior to interview and/or appointment. If you are meeting Minimum Qualifications with education, you must include your unofficial transcripts/diploma for verification. Official transcripts may be required upon appointment. If it is determined an applicant does not meet the Minimum Qualifications, the candidate will be withheld from the eligibility list, rendering them inactive and ineligible to be hired for the position. Candidates who have been withheld may file an appeal with the State Personnel Board.
Background Investigation Process
Candidates new to CCHCS are required to submit to a background investigation process utilizing Live Scan Fingerprinting.
Tuberculosis (TB) Testing
TB testing is required for candidates new to CCHCS prior to appointment followed by department annual TB testing/evaluation thereafter.
