CORRECTIONAL SUPERVISING COOK (CORRECTIONAL FACILITY)

About the role

This position may be assigned to the Sandwich Room, Butcher Shop, Main Kitchen, or Warehouse. Duties include instructing, leading, and supervising incarcerated persons in food preparation and cooking, maintaining security, supervising clean-up, dispensing food to custody staff, establishing count requirements, issuing utensils, and serving food.

Responsibilities

• Instruct, lead, and supervise incarcerated persons in food preparation and cooking.
• Maintain security of food preparation area to minimize theft.
• Serve as a point of contact for units to secure inmate workers and assign tasks.
• Prepare and set up the preparation area for meals.
• Communicate with units to secure inmates for assigned areas.
• Train and delegate responsibilities to incarcerated persons.
• Attend all required training, meetings, and seminars.
