Correctional Medicine Physician Opportunity

Position Overview

This role involves providing comprehensive medical services for inmate patients and staff injured during work activities within a correctional facility.

Key Responsibilities

• Deliver timely and appropriate healthcare to the inmate population.
• Make final medical judgments based on established policies and procedures.
• Oversee all Health Services activities on the unit.
• Manage and direct Health Services staff, including APPs and nurses.
• Maintain continuity of care through outpatient preventive clinics and routine visits for adult male patients.

Qualifications & Skills

• MD or DO with Board Certification or Eligibility in Family or Internal Medicine.
• Active Texas medical license or IMLC LOQ, with BLS and DEA certifications.
• Experience in primary care settings preferred.
• Ability to exercise independent judgment and work under general supervision.

Work Environment & Requirements

Located within correctional facilities requiring security clearance and drug testing.
