Correctional Health Coordinator - Detainee & Crisis Systems

Essential Functions

• Maintains compliance with local, state, and federal guidelines and statutes.
• Monitors vendor compliance with business requirements and conducts audits of performance indicators and mortality reviews.
• Facilitates and supports NCCHC evaluation services and accreditation surveys.
• Maintains current certification from NCCHC to ensure compliance with NCCHC standards.
• Maintains trends in detainees' health statistics, hospital send-outs, and admissions.
• Introduces amendments to County-owned electronic health records and compiles bespoke reports.
• Liaises between the Sheriff's department/custody leadership, health department, and accrediting body (NCCHC).
• Aids in clearance requests for temporary access to the facility by out-of-state vendors and escorts visitors.
• Aids in the compilation of RFP documents, contracts, and contract amendments.
• Aids and oversees transitions of correctional healthcare vendors.
• Aids in the procurement and replacement of medical equipment.

Minimum Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree from an accredited college or university in a medical or behavioral health related field AND two years of professional level experience in coordinating, monitoring, administrating, or managing program or specialized work activities.
• Two years of experience with Pima County in a professional administrative classification.

Preferred Qualifications

• Experience with case management and/or care coordination.
• Experience with/knowledge of community resource networks.
• Experience with/knowledge of working with justice-involved populations, behavioral health clients, substance use disorder populations, or other underserved populations.
• Experience building and maintaining collaborative relationships between the department and external entities, such as community agencies, probation, health plans, and other relevant organizations.
