Correctional Coordinator
About the role
As a Correctional Coordinator at the Miami Correctional Facility, you will play a crucial role in facilitating the transition of incarcerated individuals back into society. You will deliver mandated pre-release information and support, ensuring individuals are adequately prepared for their reintegration.
Responsibilities
- Research and compile information on specific aspects of the program such as procedures, needs, and policies.
- Answer customer questions about program policies and procedures.
- Establish, organize, and maintain current and historical files related to the program.
- Aid in the preparation of program reports, develop applications, prepare budget allocations and/or purchasing of consultative services.
- Maintain, monitor, and order program assets.
- Aid the supervisor in the development and planning of overall program and its role in the functioning of the agency.
- Schedule, prepare, and disseminate all program related training materials.
Requirements
- Specialized knowledge of program area including pertinent rules and regulations.
- Experience: Minimum of five years of progressively responsible experience in a correctional or law enforcement setting, with at least two years in a supervisory or coordination role.
- Specialized knowledge of applicable legislation, guidelines, agency policy and professional standards and practices.
- Ability to research, analyze, and compile specific topics related to program area.
- Ability to communicate effectively.
- Ability to operate effectively in a group decision-making process.
- Ability to establish and maintain a working-relationship with staff and offenders.
- Use tact in dealing with other agency personnel and the public.
Qualifications
- A Degree Is Preferred But Not Required.
- Individuals should have the ability to perform essential functions with or without reasonable accommodation.
Skills
Individuals in this role should minimally be able to articulate or demonstrate the following:
- Specialized knowledge of program area including pertinent rules and regulations.

Pay
The salary for this position traditionally starts at $47,320.00 but may be commensurate with education or work experience.

Salary: $47,320.00
Non-custody staff who complete required training and certification to perform federal detention duties will receive a $20 non-discretionary bonus for each shift that they are assigned those duties.
