Job Overview

The Correctional Compliance Specialist 2 provides auditing and review services under the direction of contracts within the Office of Inspector General (OIG). Duties and responsibilities include assisting with audits of all facilities, to include privately managed facilities, preparing compliance reports, and assisting in follow-up audits to ensure findings are corrected. Additionally, the Correctional Compliance Specialist 2 assists in reviewing and developing inspection instruments used to monitor compliance. This position reports directly to the Senior Correctional Compliance Specialist Contract Monitoring.

Key Responsibilities

• Assist with auditing all facilities, to include privately managed facilities for medical, behavioral health, and/or food service audits;
• Assist the Senior Compliance Specialist with any compliance matters or directives/initiatives as approved;
• Prepare audit paperwork/documentation needed for each audit scheduled;
• Report deficiencies to management for review;
• Complete pre-audit work in preparation for upcoming audits;
• Assist in follow-up audits to ensure findings are corrected;
• Prepare reports and presentations for executive staff;
• Assist with reviewing and developing inspection instruments;
• Review policies, as assigned;
• Provide other administrative support, as needed.

Minimum Qualifications

• Education and Experience: Graduation from an accredited college or university with a bachelor's degree and experience equivalent to five years of correctional work.
• Substitution of Experience for Education: Qualifying full-time professional or paraprofessional correctional experience may be substituted for the required education on a year-for-year basis to a maximum of four years.
• OR 5 years of compliance or auditing experience in correctional facilities or programs.
