About the Role
A full life-cycle recruiting position responsible for sourcing, screening, interviewing, and referring applicants, ensuring a smooth onboarding experience for all new hires.
Responsibilities
- Partner with managers to understand staffing needs and manage positions.
- Maintain thorough knowledge of all specialized functions in the company.
- Develop and maintain vendor relations for job postings, negotiate contracts and pricing.
- Develop and post job ads using all available advertising sources.
- Source and screen resumes using job boards, trade groups, professional organizations, newspapers, networking, and employee referrals.
- Identify and develop relationships with trade schools, state, and county employment agencies.
- Maintain the Applicant Tracking System (Workable).
- Write candidate assessments after phone screens and provide feedback to hiring managers.
- Conduct background checks and coordinate drug screens for new hires.
- Manage the onboarding process for new hires.
- Coordinate and schedule interviews with candidates and hiring managers.
- Conduct reference checks and pre-employment screenings.
- Negotiate job offers with candidates.
- Coordinate employment start dates and orientation.
- Write and send rejection letters.
- Communicate regularly with managers and employees to gauge morale and source new candidate leads.
- Fully participate in the thorough onboarding of new hires to ensure successful acclimation.
- Propose and implement ongoing improvements to the recruitment process.
- Attend job fairs and college fairs as necessary.
- Partner with area employment agencies for temporary and contract placements.
Requirements
- Bachelor’s Degree in Human Resources or related field, OR equivalent work experience.
- Minimum of 2 years of related recruiting experience, preferably for a variety of positions at all levels (entry to senior).
- Experience recruiting in the Home Improvement Industry is preferred.
- Experience recruiting for Apprentice and Labor roles.
- Experience with Applicant Tracking Systems, preferably Workable.
- Experience using texting recruiting tools (e.g., Text Recruit, TextUs, ICIMS).
- Wide range of recruiting experience and knowledge of recruiting practices and market trends.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
- Ability to work both independently and in a team environment.
- Must thrive in a fast-paced environment and excel at multitasking.
- Strong interpersonal and administrative skills.
- PC proficiency in MS Office (Word, Excel, Outlook).
- Detail-oriented with a sense of urgency.
- Ability to interact with a diverse workforce.
Pay
Salary of $60,000–$65,000 plus potential monthly incentives.
