Corporate Practice Manager

We are looking for a collaborative Corporate Practice Manager to support our associates within the Corporate group, focusing on workflow management and career development. This role plays an integral part in the retention, development, and engagement of our associates while contributing to the implementation of group initiatives.

About the role

This is a full-time exempt role based in any of our U.S. offices except Washington, D.C., requiring 3 days of in-office presence per week, with additional onsite days as needed to support business and client requirements.

Responsibilities

• Serve as a knowledgeable and trusted resource to associates, helping them manage workflow, bandwidth, and time management.
• Manage junior associates following their initial integration into the firm via the “Fenwick First program,” ensuring continued support and navigation of the free-market workflow system.
• Oversee work allocation and utilization within the free-market workflow system, assisting partners and associates with staffing matters.
• Evaluate practice group needs by gathering and analyzing data, identifying gaps in associate resources, and supporting recruiting efforts.
• Manage orientation and integration for lateral and junior associates, as well as off-boarding processes.
• Lead associate engagement initiatives, fostering in-office collaboration through morale-building events and support.
• Collaborate with partners, Practice Support Lawyers, and the Legal Training team to plan and conduct formal training programs for the Corporate Practice Group.
• Support the evaluation and associate development process in partnership with the Legal Personnel team.
• Work with the Knowledge Management team to test, roll out, and maintain key tools and resources, including AI tools.
• Collaborate on AI initiatives for the Corporate Practice Group, identifying opportunities for efficiency and developing training on responsible AI use.
• Assist in strategic decision-making for the group alongside practice management directors, practice leaders, and partners.
• Support additional initiatives, projects, or tasks as assigned to the Practice Management team.

Qualifications

• 3-5 years of manager-level experience at a law firm or other professional services organization; practice management experience, including staffing support, is a plus.
• Bachelor’s degree required; JD or MBA is a plus.

Pay

The anticipated salary range for this position is $153,000 - $228,750. The actual base salary offered may depend on factors such as qualifications, relevant experience, education, certifications, and location.
