Responsibilities
- Prepare, edit, and coordinate a wide range of legal agreements, including service contracts, amendments, leases, and memoranda of understanding.
- Oversee the progression of contracts from intake through approval, signature, renewal, and ongoing obligation tracking.
- Maintain accurate records within the contract management platform and help ensure documentation remains current and accessible.
- Perform research on applicable federal and Texas laws, regulations, and compliance requirements to support legal guidance.
- Develop summaries, memoranda, and briefing materials that assist attorneys and organizational leaders with decision-making.
- Contribute to procurement and contracting activities by helping align documentation and processes with Texas public-sector requirements.
- Support dispute and litigation matters by organizing files, gathering records, and assisting with discovery-related responses.
- Preserve legal and contractual records in accordance with retention standards and internal governance practices.
- Collaborate with Legal, Procurement, and operational teams to improve coordination and consistency across contracting procedures.
Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in Paralegal Studies, Legal Studies, Business Administration, Public Administration, or a related field.
- Paralegal certification from an approved program.
- At least 5 years of experience in paralegal support, legal operations, or contract administration.
- Demonstrated ability to review, organize, and manage contracts and other legal documentation.
- Strong legal research, analytical thinking, and detail-oriented writing skills.
- Ability to handle multiple assignments and deadlines in a fast-paced environment.
- Advanced proficiency with Microsoft Office applications and contract management systems.
- Familiarity with Texas Government Codes: Chapter 2155, Chapter 2254, Chapter 2269, Chapter 791, Chapter 2161 and more.
- Experience with government compliance, public-sector contracting, healthcare environments, or related regulated settings is preferred.
