Corporate Litigation Associate (Dallas)
About the role
Katten, a global Am Law 100 firm, is seeking a Corporate Litigation Associate to join its Dallas office. This role sits within our M&A and corporate litigation practice, handling high-stakes disputes arising out of mergers, acquisitions, and complex commercial transactions.
Requirements
Qualified candidates will have 3-5 years of complex commercial litigation experience at a nationally or regionally recognized law firm and be admitted to the Texas State Bar. We are looking for a solutions-oriented, insightful litigator who is comfortable working with dense corporate contracts and transactional documents.
Skills
- Experience drafting near ready-to-file documents such as pleadings, motions, and discovery responses
- Ability to manage case files and tasks
- Strong research, analysis, and writing skills
- Familiarity reading and interpreting merger agreements, purchase agreements, and other complex commercial contracts
- Experience with depositions and trial preparation activities
- Desire to gain meaningful stand-up courtroom experience
Qualifications
Prior M&A litigation experience is a plus but is not required; equally strong candidates may come from a broader commercial litigation background and bring the analytical rigor and contractual fluency this practice demands. Our ideal candidate will thrive in a fast-paced environment, demonstrate sound judgment, and take ownership of case responsibilities.
Pay
The estimated salary range for this role is $270,000 - $385,000. Salary determinations are made based on numerous factors, such as, but not limited to: relevant experience and work history, graduation and class year, and practice area of the selected candidate.
